Eminently Contagious
A woman’s work is never done. Fortunately we have weekends for shopping in.
I love shopping at Coco. They seem to deliver every time, offering some classic wardrobe pieces that you really can’t afford to be without. The Tuxedo Jacket completely defines this outfit: the tailoring is extremely feminine, given an edge with its powerful, angled shoulders and clean lines throughout. The effect is softened by a rounded hemline that runs down and splits open to the back. Read the rest of this entry »

Army Dreamer
Sometimes everything feels like a bit of a battle, like you’re walking uphill in some kind of personalised thunderstorm with gale force winds slamming into the Acme umbrella you were holding up for the illusion of protection. You grit your teeth and soldier on, giving the world a little attitude to remind everyone you’re not beaten.
I was rather impressed with these jeans from DYN which really kick-started this style. This camo pattern is available in a few colour options but I was taken with this mottling of greens and blues, clear and crisp with stitching, pocket and button details picked out in brassy colours. These butt hugging pants look like they’re being worn, well placed stretch marks lining the legs; I’m also a huge fan of the wide cuffs that have a slight upturn to the front as those ridden a little from walking. On the Fence
A look created on a whim doesn’t always have an explanation. It just is what it is.
I started with this skirt I bought from Narwhal some time ago that unfortunately became ensnared in the folds of my inventory. Having finally extracted it, I’ve been hard pressed to take it off: I love this slinky jersey style, high waisted with satin bow sash, pulled down around the thighs where the elasticated hem keeps it from riding much further up. Medicine for the Soul
Exploiting the sexy librarian look? Who, me? It just happened, I swear.
It all started when I bought a dress from Ibizarre. The dress in its entirety is is very pretty but I thought the upper by itself would make a good blouse. I love the long, fluted sleeves, very distinct from the fitted body of the printed bodice which sits in a pronounced and very revealing sweetheart neckline. For modesty’s sake I layered with a simple tube top from Dutch Touch in a soft blue, a colour I decided to colour through with accessories. Read the rest of this entry »

Me and a Gun
(or two).
Sometimes it’s entertaining to strut around an RP sim looking like you’re going to hail bullets down on the first try-hard that crosses your path*. It’s also a fantastic ego-boost when many of those too scared to try and communicate in character with your apparently kick-arse persona stoop to IMing you and complimenting you on your wardrobe. I do so love the metaverse.
This look is based around the outfit Nardcotix created for the Rezzable ‘The Future is Now’ event (ending February 3). Every post-apocalyptic gunslinger needs her own skin-tight leotard, and the texturing on this one has just the right feel, deep creases running all over with stretch to the sleeves into which arms must have been long teased and coerced. Skin Deep
I know, I know. This is the second time in as many months that I’ve flashed my semi-naked figure in your general direction: I can’t really apologise for featuring my favourite things on the grid, and the Belleza Alyson skin hopped, skipped and jumped her way to the dizzying heights of my “love-it” list as soon as I saw her on.
The first thing that strikes you about Alyson is her youthful face. With a clear complexion and strong features, she’ll definitely pull eyes in a crowd. The lips on this skin are quite suited to a variety of mouth shapes – I always tweak my lips a touch to best suit a new skin – although I found my favourite fit was to give Alyson a wider, slimmer lip line which produced a wonderfully mischievous smile. Red Mercury
I’d always been told that red was the colour of magic; put it on and you’ll see as much for yourself. The connotations of a colour have never been clearer, which is probably why when wearing an outfit like this you’ll attract enough attention to swell your ego to the size of a small American state.
Oh what fun!
I started with part of a coat from Armidi: it’s meant to be a longer-length trench, but I’m wearing it short and tight for a different feel. Armidi have created some real statement pieces in their collection and this is definitely one of them, the wide collar jutting behind and folding out at the front, dropped and wrapped for an opened v-neck with black leather belt cinching the figure. Sewn Differently
I love things done differently. Every nuance demonstrates the angle of someone’s perception: the ways we look at the world and indeed at ourselves.
I’m finding it difficult to get enough of knitwear recently, and I certainly found myself unable to resist this long-sleeved wrap dress I saw at Hucci. I’m all about value for money, and pieces like this are great because they can be layered up, accessorised and made to fit a good number of different looks. The Hucci dress fits tight to the body with appropriate stretch all over; the neck is wide and open with angular lines to the bust. A simple belt rides on the hips, dropping to a central tie with loose end falling below the skirt. Read the rest of this entry »

Penance Paid
You know how us Catholic girls can be. At least we know how to dress – for our sins.
I’ve recently shown quite a few gorgeous shoes from Nardcotix, but not so much of their beautiful clothing. This blouse is an excellent example of Nardya Rousselot’s work, printed silk cut to a deep vneck and buttoned to the front, featuring lightly scalloped cap sleeves and a skirted base. The cut is wonderfully feminine, details like the lace hems and patternation adding to the overall effect: the waist is naturally cinched but I did add part of a Luck Inc skirt to provide a wide, studded belt for emphasis.
