Song of Songs
It’s a funny time of the year to be walking alone.
Bare Rose is one of those stores that I visit infrequently, but every time I pop in I wonder why I’m not there more often. June Dion’s store is bursting with inexpensive outfits with everything from fantasy to casual styles. You do have to sift through, but it’s definitely worth it to locate gems like this cropped jacket from the Snow Smile set. For less than L$200 you’ll get several entire outfits – recolours of the same thing – but since the items are also transferable you can either load up on options yourself or kit out your friends and alts. This fur-trimmed coat has a suede feel and comes complete with wide half sleeves, the open front ornamented with popper fastenings on thick leather straps. Liquorice
It just felt like a grey day.
I used this new top from Ingenue as a base for the style. Available in the usual plethora of shades, Aquallerist is a stylish and feminine piece perfect for winter wear. With soft cowl neck draping down to the front, it also features puffed sleeves that close tight around the wrists, further detailed with a gradient effect on the edging that darkens the tone. This does crop right at the waist so may leave some flesh showing with many of the lower-waist skirt and trouser designs – I’ve fended that off here by popping on a long tank from Jane. Ruined
I always find it hard to resist a good pose prop, and if you haven’t already seen ‘The Ruins’ from !BANG then you’re in for a treat. This worn brick archway sat perfectly in the locale I chose, and I was able to create a fun picture set using just three of the preloaded poses included which range from sneaking peeks around the brickwork to lazy posing atop of the structure. The look itself stemmed from an aviator jacket from DeLa. Available in a range of colours, there are a few classics there which make must have pieces for your winter wardrobe. Lined with thick fleece, the leather has a subtle, worn-in look that is so coveted for a piece like this. With open zipped front and cuffs and wide double-collar with buckle finish, this goes as well with jeans as it will with skirts, so you can really mix up your looks. Read the rest of this entry »
