Temptation Waits

Clothing should always flatter your figure, and I love to find fashions that really put the emphasis on body shape.

This look was inspired by a recent trip to Bare Rose where I found this gloriously feminine blouse. With a ruffled collar that sits up around the neck and lies flatter to the front, the front is slightly open to the chest where it closes off with button fastenings. Print lines feature to the front and down the arms which end in flared, tiered sleeves. As is typical with June Dion’s designs, the set comes with several colours to choose from; as perms are copy only, you do need to be careful when modding prims, although it didn’t take much for me to adjust everything to fit my avatar. Should you wish to add even more by way of pomp to this look, there are also pouf caps included to dress the shoulders; I preferred the tighter lines to the arm which further exaggerates the lower sleeves.

If you’re clever with your purchases and choose sets you can easily break down into separates, you can really make your Lindens go far. This bodice is taken from a (tiny) little dress from Crazy, and because it’s a true black it’s very easy to pair up with anything else of the same colour. I recently blogged the top from Miamai’s Grazia dress – for this look I’m using the skirt from that set. As it’s a pants/prim combination it clings to the mesh, so you simply need to fatten out your hips a little to give the perfect hourglass shape.

The waist needed cinching with a belt, so I took this one from a romper suit I bought from The playsuit itself is very sweet, but I love that it comes with a number of belts of different colours and sizes which you can reuse on other styles. Brown adds a richness to the outfit, and the golden buckle ties to the bodice studs, shoes and jewellery.

Ingenue came up trumps with these gorgeous pumps in a coppery tone that sits somewhere between the gold and brown to balance. With point toes, tall, solid heels and pleated leather to decorate, they’re the perfect footwear for this blouse.

Earrings are another pair from JUNK. If you like big and bold then you’ll appreciate Koge Cleaver’s work, not least these petticoat tail pendants that fall from diamond set studs clipped tight to the ear. There’s detail right through to the back of the clasp, and while this may not be so important to bystanders, they will be able to appreciate the majority of your jewellery at quite some distance.

I wanted to keep my hair up for this look but didn’t want anything too fussy. This updo from Simply Britnee was perfect, with side swept fringe covering an eye and falling ragged to the side. The pull back to the dropped bun is piqued with free-flying curls to give a messy but sexy appeal, the untidy finish giving this look credence and a good grounding for casual stylings.
