Out of My Tree

I am undeniably a Truth hair addict. Whatever the colour or style, the texturing is second to none and the frequent new releases always give me something new to work with for a styling. One of this week’s dos completely inspired me: everyone likes something a little different, and this is fabulously quirky.

Shinji is probably the ultimate in sexy-cute. It has the whole shebang; side fringes with a bias part, softening the face by concealing the edges. Mini bunches tie to either side, leaving the ears exposed – hair pulls in a central part to the back, with a bulk of tresses trailed beneath giving length and substance. Paired with a youthful face such as Belleza’s Alyson, you can make eyes in any direction and it will certainly be difficult for your mark to resist.

You could work this style up in all number of ways and it would be a raging success, but tree houses demand suitably casual attire. I’ve been looking for an excuse to don these pants from Apple May Designs and this seemed to be the perfect opportunity; the wide cuffs align well to the legs, giving a loose and natural look which is helped along with some excellent texturing all around. The low-slung waist doesn’t meet with the upper, displaying a little stomach (in the best possible taste).

Up top I chose a long sleeved top from Nyte’N’Day. The boxy neckline to the front and back work perfectly with this pretty bustier from Flavor! Currently available as part of their L$50 sale, this lace-hemmed bodice comes in a range of colours which work on varying gradients to really bring out the silhouetted scene printed to the torso. My only quibble is that there’s only a jacket layer available, but at the sale price it’s certainly not a bad buy.

Shoes came from Shiny Things, an older pair of wedges which still look great on, despite the current preference for prim feet. Featuring embellished leather bands fastened with golden studs, these mules rise on lofty wooden wedges. They shape the feet despite being distinctly casual attire, glamming up your day looks instantly.

It’s rather fun, isn’t it? I think the poses make the pictures for this one though, they’re wonderfully expressive 🙂
