Hardly Obscene

…but then you seem to like it anyway?

The Obscene have several wigs on offer at Hair Fair 2010 at bargain prices, including the Hime style. Hime is oddly dramatic, fringe swept to the side, thick and full against the slick pullback that rises to a plumed ponytail. Flicked strands create a spiked edge that falls to lengths of loose hair left trailing in front of the shoulder. The wig is fully mod and I did remove the large pin that is part of the original design; it’s white in colour so you could also tint it if preferred.

The dress I’m wearing is another Wear Gray item, available at the Vanitas Vesture booth in an array of colours. I’m actually only showing it in part, but it works just as well slimmed down without the upper puff – I love the angled skirt which slopes out from the hips, loose pleats creating an uneven hemline. The effect is enhanced by the material gathered about the hips, something of a bustle to embellish.

To create the raised neckline I paired with a top from R.icielli. It’s a perfect fit with sequins neatly framed by the dress straps, set beneath a ring of draped fabric that circles the neck.

Cutout leggings from MichaMi are a great addition to many an ensemble – they’re expensive for leggings, but the effect can be very dramatic with the right look and to my mind they’re worth the extra Lindens. With solid sides that shimmer in the light, the fronts and backs feature lengths of diamond mesh with random fillers throughout. The haphazard patterning is eye catching whatever else you’re wearing, but particularly impacts in some of the brighter shades available.

Boots are from Maitreya, this particular colour an old group gift although you can still buy other textures in store. With slouched socks on the legs that run inside the patent shoe part, the Soho boots finish on a stiletto heel, providing a style that can be dressed up or down according to your mood.

Accessories came by way of a bag from ORTA, a newly released clutch which has various options for wear. If you’re quick you may still be able to snap up this version in the group gift archives, and you’ll certainly want to grab a few more colours while you’re at the store. Earrings are simple metal hoops from Fri.day, and the bangles rather more intricately designed pieces from Mandala.
