Liquorice

It just felt like a grey day.

I used this new top from Ingenue as a base for the style. Available in the usual plethora of shades, Aquallerist is a stylish and feminine piece perfect for winter wear. With soft cowl neck draping down to the front, it also features puffed sleeves that close tight around the wrists, further detailed with a gradient effect on the edging that darkens the tone. This does crop right at the waist so may leave some flesh showing with many of the lower-waist skirt and trouser designs – I’ve fended that off here by popping on a long tank from Jane. As all colours of this top are free, you may want to pick up a few tones while you’re there.

Working with the sweater is a corset I picked up from The Secret Store. Maylee Oh’s design is very easy to wear as a standalone or incorporated into other looks. You can buy the corset in three patterned colours, but this is a classic with ribbed panels decorated by smatterings of silver on black.

Dressy shorts are fun to style and this pair from BOOM really hit the spot for me. These corduroys can be glammed up or toned down to suit and have various cuff options so you can better work them into your styling. Underneath I popped on some cropped tights from MALT which give a slightly different finish; to ensure a suitably smart feel I also added a simple belt from COCO with rounded double-buckles in line with those on the boots.

Boots are from GField, an older pair and I don’t believe these have an alpha option (mine certainly don’t, but I did buy them some time ago). Despite this they’re a very cute design, stiff shoe shape supported on a platform base with a soft leather panel slouching slightly beneath the upper and lower buckles. You can also colour change the metal parts for a bit of variation.

Jewellery is from Ticky Tacky, different sets for the necklace and ring but the two still pair up well. The colouring works very well with the rest of the outfit, and the fairly simple designs stand out with their clear-cut shapes.

The rather sultry hair is from this week’s Truth release – it’s well worth a look if you haven’t already, there are some gorgeous styles including a male do, and each colour pack now benefits from an additional colour choice. All this week’s hairs have streaked options, now including all (I think!) standard dye colour choices to enable you to create some really natural high and lowlights, and maybe even discover you new favourite wig colour.

Poses are from Olive Juice from a newly released pose set based around holding a clutch bag. I do love poses designed to work with accessories, and while I have managed to catch every angle that doesn’t show off the bag very well for this shoot I can assure you that I’m at fault and not IsabellaGrace Baroque.
