Cannon Fodder

In case of emergency, your exits are… everywhere. Can’t promise the landing will be all too pleasant though.

The new Jackie Hammer set from Reasonable Desires provided a number of pieces for this look. The denim top is in a balcony style, straps drawing from a V shape at the back and running straight over the shoulders, buttoned down with enough detail in the design to give a suitably snug feel. The matching shorts have nice accents with the studs and belt loops but do have a slight bleed on the thigh – nothing that bothered me and to be expected with a crop like this. Kawaii ne?

Posted in Fashion, iheartsl, MV-SL-Fashion tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 11:23 pm by Fayne Khandr

I’m barely schooled in Japanese but I’m not adverse to returning to the classroom to learn a little more. It does seem that I’m a little early for my lecture though…

Did Truth’s Layla hair have anything to do with my choice of styling? Perhaps just a little. These big fluffy bunches are pulled in front of the shoulders so should work well with most AOs; the hair is scraped into check and knotted around on itself to hold the do. The fringe is brushed into two sections, pulled around on either side of the face with the right side fastened by a pair of bobby pins. Read the rest of this entry »

Hit the deck

It’s been ridiculously hot of late, far more so than we Brits are used to coping with. At times like this, wearing next to nothing seems like a rather wonderful idea; this look was created with that in mind.

I started with this top from Miamai. I love the style, criss-cross layers that cause the lines to run asymmetrically, a loose knit on the outer wrap and sleek black material beneath to contrast. It comes in a number of colours, all of which have a nice sheen to them for a suitably sexy finish. Read the rest of this entry »

Woman on top

Posted in Fashion, iheartsl, MV-SL-Fashion tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 11:44 am by Fayne Khandr

Yeehaw.

I was really tickled by machang Pichot’s new releases and couldn’t help but put together this cowgirl styling, starting with the long denim shirt. Similar in style to the front knot shirts in the AOHARU collection, this longer version has a wide fitting skirt that pulls through beneath a leather belt, the cinched style featuring hook eyelets to the front, bound tight with a leather lace that knots into a floppy bow. Lonely, Not Alone

Posted in Fashion, iheartsl, MV-SL-Fashion tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 1:26 pm by Fayne Khandr

It’s easy to miss the little things. But I think I have the necessary in place with this look.

Ivalde’s new collection has received massive coverage from the blogging community, but I blog what I like and it never hurts to think about new ways you can wear those things you already have in your inventory. This top is simply done, a cami styled with double layers of ruffles to the neckline, slight runching to the middle with a loose finish on the torso. As most of the detail is to the chest this also pairs beautifully with unbuttoned jackets and blouses, but for something extra here I paired with a belt from a top by MichaMi, which knots to the side and trails gently resting just below the hip. Empirically Formed

I fell in love with the Lyric dress from Evie’s Closet when I saw it at Etheria and have been impatiently awaiting the new colours to be released. While the other dresses are all beautiful, it was the dual-tone ‘Othello’ that captured my imagination and inspired this particular styling.

Lyric is designed as a fairy gown and comes complete with both wings and separate sleeves, neither shown here as I opted for a slightly different take. The dress itself is strapless with underbust detail by way of a corded belt, twisted around itself to provide a starting point for the skirt. Read the rest of this entry »

Isn’t something missing?

Posted in Fashion, iheartsl, MV-SL-Fashion tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 4:30 pm by Fayne Khandr

The Etheria event is running until Sunday, and while it has been widely covered by many a blogger, I’m keen to bring you my take on some of the pieces in this post (and my next).

Caroline Apollo’s glamorous offering of this jewellery set is first on display, shown here in onyx but available in various hues to suit your taste. Comprising earrings, necklace and ring, assorted shapes of stone are set in gold and held together with delicate chain links, providing a statement set suited well to any of your dresses with a suitably revealing neckline. The onyx is well lit with detailed shimmer that really makes the stones stand out, with careful work on the facets and settings. Read the rest of this entry »

Messing About by the River

Posted in Fashion, iheartsl, MV-SL-Fashion tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 6:41 pm by Fayne Khandr

When the weather is fine you know it’s the time for messing about on the river.
Or at least nearby.

I’ve wanted to buy this t-shirt from Exodi since I first saw it on Ryker Beck’s Flickr stream, but it wasn’t until the weekend that I managed to take a trip over to the store and pick it up. Graphics on casuals can really bring them to life, and the light brushwork to the front definitely adds interest. There are other details that appeal including an acutely angled cut to the rear neckline and the runched side which is pulled to a tie fastening above the left hip. Read the rest of this entry »

Unplayed Piano

Posted in Fashion, iheartsl, MV-SL-Fashion tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 5:56 pm by Fayne Khandr

The Glitterati Piano is Katey Coppola’s latest prop release. It’s undeniably entertaining to lie strewn across various pieces of furniture, but the piano has to be one of the all time greats for sexy lies and leans. This particular instrument has 15 different sits, stands and swoons – whether you’re shooting pictures or fancy an interactive talking piece for your virtual living space, you’ll want to have one of these on standby.

Despite the fact that I’m more a poser than a player, I thought it would be fun to dress for my faux recital. Read the rest of this entry »

Walk This Way

Posted in Fashion, iheartsl, MV-SL-Fashion tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 10:45 am by Fayne Khandr

Mondays are never quite the highlight of the week, but you can make them a little more bearable by taking some time out for yourself. An early morning walk is always invigorating and I for one enjoy a chance to enjoy the scenery in relative peace.

I started this look with a corset top from Dreams; if you like this kind of style, you’ll love Sanura Snowpaw’s work. Zipped to the front with contrasting side panels, the texturing is brilliantly executed with some lovely high and lowlights as well as stretch detail to give a real feel for the skin tight fit. Available in a number of vibrant colours and various patterns, you’re bound to find something to suit. Read the rest of this entry »
