Poinsettia

Christmas isn’t Christmas without a Poinsettia.

If you’re in the market for a new dress for party going you should take a look at ORTA’s new Cassandra gown. With billowing skirt featuring a slight train to the back, Cassandra features a deep v neckline to showcase your assets, with bows ornamenting the shoulders. Simple but dramatic, you can also opt to remove the skirt for a sexy bodysuit that can be layered or worn alone if there’s a certain someone who’s been extra good to you this year. There are some beautiful light and dark colours to choose from and you’ll find matching clutches available in store too. Read the rest of this entry »

Alternative Angel

A messenger from the Association of the Angelic. Is she everything you expected?

Tripping the light fantastic often opens one’s mind, and I was inspired to create another look using one of Tuli’s Jade skins. The body is well defined and crafted to the high standards we’ve come to expect from Tuli Asturias, but what really defines Jade is her rather haunting face, particularly in this pallid tone with the streaked mascara and smudged liner about the eyes. The makeups available in Tone 1 are wonderfully dramatic, making it rather difficult to choose just the one, but of course you can expand your options immediately and at a very reasonable price by applying one of Elysium Eilde’s makeups. Fire on the Side

“Words are only painted fire; a look is the fire itself.” Mark Twain

MALT are currently having a sale, where I picked up a few things I’ve had my eye on including this floaty top. Each pack comes in two tones with the colours reversed, strapless with ribbon finish, wrapping about the top and knotted to the centre, excess trailing down the length. The skirt flows from beneath the chest, dotted with daisy heads and edged with a contrasting ruffle. The shading is strong but it suits the style and gives wonderful definition throughout; I paired up with the sleeves of a dress from Evie’s Closet which I’ve previously featured, the two a near perfect match. Messing About by the River

Posted in Fashion, iheartsl, MV-SL-Fashion tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 6:41 pm by Fayne Khandr

When the weather is fine you know it’s the time for messing about on the river.
Or at least nearby.

I’ve wanted to buy this t-shirt from Exodi since I first saw it on Ryker Beck’s Flickr stream, but it wasn’t until the weekend that I managed to take a trip over to the store and pick it up. Graphics on casuals can really bring them to life, and the light brushwork to the front definitely adds interest. There are other details that appeal including an acutely angled cut to the rear neckline and the runched side which is pulled to a tie fastening above the left hip. Read the rest of this entry »

Perennial Spring

Gospel Voom and Elpis Oh are rocking my virtual world with their latest Docs polish release. I’m a huge fan of Gos’s Docs – with the ability to morph into three different shapes, simple resize and plethora of colour updates, you couldn’t ask for more versatile or wearable boots. I do believe Gos has succeeded in bottling a season and working the essence into leather: the latest Spring polishes come with five lush options, all with different floral themes and in vibrant colours. The colours just pop, bringing the detail of the primwork right to the fore. Read the rest of this entry »

Down Town

Blending into a crowd is overrated, it’s really far more entertaining to be the one everyone has their eye on.

This little jacket is part of a set from BareRose, one of those many treasures hidden in store. You couldn’t ask for much more for the price, and as usual this is a complete bargain even if you never wear anything else from the package. This cropped jacket sits loose on the shoulders, detailed with brassy studs and fastenings and a softly etched floral pattern to the back. Thick leather loops are fixed around the base, matching the keepers on the turn up cuffs to the arms. Read the rest of this entry »

Where the Ocean Ends

Posted in Fashion, iheartsl, MV-SL-Fashion tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 7:43 pm by Fayne Khandr

I live in the centre of the UK, which means the sea is a good trek in any one direction. Fortunately the metaverse allows for a breath of ocean air, and with plentiful shopping opportunities along the cliffsides I didn’t even need to concern myself with walking across a shingled beach.

Let’s start with the hair (largely because I’ll burst if I don’t rave immediately): I was incredibly impressed with this weather-worn style from Exile, which has everything from a great shape to glorious textures. The style works from a side parting, the hair blown heavy across the right side of the face, wisps flying free while the main body of hair holds reasonably firm to frame the face. I am besotted with the expert use of flexi-prims to the front, which give a bouncy movement that finishes the style perfectly. Read the rest of this entry »

Life Without Theory

There are some beautiful places in Second Life if you just go looking, and while sometimes a studio setting is easier, I really do enjoy a little exploration. It also means you can shift in and out of seasons (and fashions) without too much ado.

I thought I’d keep on my summer tan for this shoot. It’s no secret that I’m a huge Belleza fan: Jesse has a beautiful face and body to match, some of which you can see here. I’m using the cleavage version which sits just perfectly with the oufit, but you have the choice of a less busty style and indeed a hairbase option in each pack. The makeup here has very natural lips and a brush of colour above the eyes in a soft emerald tone: the general shading on the body is defined without being overwhelming, with special care and attention lavished on the face.
