Poinsettia

Christmas isn’t Christmas without a Poinsettia.

If you’re in the market for a new dress for party going you should take a look at ORTA’s new Cassandra gown. With billowing skirt featuring a slight train to the back, Cassandra features a deep v neckline to showcase your assets, with bows ornamenting the shoulders. Simple but dramatic, you can also opt to remove the skirt for a sexy bodysuit that can be layered or worn alone if there’s a certain someone who’s been extra good to you this year. There are some beautiful light and dark colours to choose from and you’ll find matching clutches available in store too. Read the rest of this entry »

Frosty Starlight

There for all to see, if you’re only looking…

Even by starlight my feet are looking particularly fabulous cocooned in Gos’s seasonal Slouch Boots. The original boots were released a couple of weeks ago but Gos have just put out a festive quartet colour pack in the same style. The soft leather boots are calf-high, creasing down the leg and set upon a raised wood base with studded join surround and ringed harness detail about the ankle. I’m wearing them in red tartan, but you can also choose from green argyle, silver and gold; the metallics are particularly fun, perfect for accompanying your New Year’s Eve party look and generally good for adding some sparkle to your style. Srsly… GTFO

Posted in Fashion, iheartsl, MV-SL-Fashion tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 2:27 pm by Fayne Khandr

For a boot that’s bang on-trend look no further than Gos’s new GTFO boot, the ultimate in style for this season.

Calf-high for a look that will work with just about anything in your wardrobe, GTFO is military inspired with an edge about it that lends itself to all kinds of stylings. I’m wearing the boot in stone, a distressed suede with contrasting leather straps; there are 8 colours in all, with the textures chosen to match the feel of the boot, from pristine leather to more scuffed and worn versions in tones ranging from a rugged khaki to feminine icy white. You can buy single boots and wear as shown or opt for the various fatpacks which allow you to colour pick buckle and leather, customising to suit your personal taste. As usual, the boots are crafted to the highest standard with immense detail in everything from the scuff marks to the stitched surrounds, the subtle shadows and sharp accents. What’s more, Gos’s on-touch HUD features multiway resize to ensure you can fit the boots precisely to your shape, ensuring a custom fit on every avatar: that’s why this boot will look as good on you as it will on any model.

Gothica

Posted in Fashion, iheartsl, MV-SL-Fashion tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 5:07 pm by Fayne Khandr

We’re all a little strange. It’s just some people are better at hiding it than others.

Carina Larsen of Amacci was kind enough to send me a review copy of her latest skin, Irina. Irina comes in 5 tones, but as it happens I was already working on this look when I saw Irina and immediately chose gothic to work with. There are 16 makeups to choose from, including a couple of barely there looks (handy if you wish to apply other tattoos over the top) although the makeups are very well done and cater for the individual skin colours, so I think you’ll be hard pressed to walk away without picking up a few. I did add some extra mascara and a tattoo on the brow – Glam Affair’s offering at The Dressing Room a couple of weeks ago – for some added drama, but the vivid purple alone leaves quite an impact. There are skin demos available in store, but if you wanted to try the goth skin out then Carina’s released a gift to her group in an exclusive Pumpkin coloured makeup. Definitely worth stopping by the store and having a look. Read the rest of this entry »

Porcelain Punk

Why yes, those are my pumpkins. You can look but don’t touch.

Call For Couture (CFC) has been getting a lot of attention on the feeds, and not without good reason. Open until 31 October, CFC is showcasing some 185 brands and their new and exclusive releases. As well as being a fashion extravaganza, CFC is also aiming to raise money for The Samaritans, a UK based emotional support service, by auctioning over 100 unique items with 50% of proceeds being donated. Street

Sure it’s street. It’s just the way I do street.

Miel have released a gorgeous new set of clothing which couldn’t wait to be blogged. Elle consists of separates in various colours with several options of tone and texture per piece giving you huge variety from just a few purchases. I’m showing here the trousers, tank and bow, but there’s a sculpted evening top too which you can check out in store. Read the rest of this entry »

Wind Swept

Posted in Fashion, iheartsl, MV-SL-Fashion tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 8:36 pm by Fayne Khandr

Will you hurry up and take the damn picture? I’m freezing here!

machang Pichot’s new releases always cause a stir, and I simply love this jacket for a seasonal, wind-swept look. The jacket is styled to billow open, trailing lengths of tabbed cord from collar and base. I love all the little details from the wear marks to the shiny brown buttons, and particularly the compression on the turn-back cuffs which are tightly secured by buttoned loops. An oversized hood folds back from the wide collar, giving the piece a shapely finish. Read the rest of this entry »

Hardly Obscene

Posted in Fashion, iheartsl, MV-SL-Fashion tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 4:52 pm by Fayne Khandr

…but then you seem to like it anyway?

The Obscene have several wigs on offer at Hair Fair 2010 at bargain prices, including the Hime style. Hime is oddly dramatic, fringe swept to the side, thick and full against the slick pullback that rises to a plumed ponytail. Flicked strands create a spiked edge that falls to lengths of loose hair left trailing in front of the shoulder. The wig is fully mod and I did remove the large pin that is part of the original design; it’s white in colour so you could also tint it if preferred. Read the rest of this entry »

Vain as a Peacock

Posted in Fashion, iheartsl, MV-SL-Fashion tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , at 10:49 pm by Fayne Khandr

Sometimes it’s fun to strut.

I started this outfit with a piece from the new Elymode release. The Estreia set is rather daring as a whole, but you can break it down and mix and match with your existing wardrobe. Elysium Eilde offers various suggestions in store for how to use the different parts. Some pieces are part-layered so you may need to be aware of that when looking at possible stylings, but the underbust corset is certainly versatile enough for pairing with skirts as seen here. Detailed with light boning and scattered star pattern, it’s slightly sheer so depending on your wear you may need to consider a carry through on the under layer to ensure a consistent colouring; I used part of a girdle from Maitreya, but in this instance anything black would have done.
